This report examines recent data and research on International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes in Canada—at both national and provincial levels—focusing on student outcomes, linguistic diversity, programme growth, assessment patterns and results, and university destinations and recognition. IB programmes are currently offered in 383 schools across Canada, the majority of which are public. Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia have the highest concentrations of IB World Schools, though other provinces also show strong representation. The IB aligns well with the bilingual policies and priorities of many Canadian provinces and territories, supporting multilingualism and intercultural understanding. Outcomes from the University of Toronto and University of British Columbia show that Diploma Programme (DP) students more frequently pursued science and engineering, earned higher grades, and graduated in a more timely manner than French Immersion students or those with traditional diplomas. Most IB students in Canada sent transcripts to universities within their own province, while international IB students showed strong interest in Canadian institutions.
