Montana school hosts world renowned linguists

Newstalkkgvo.com reported that IB students at the Big Sky High School in Missoula, Montana, US, had a rare opportunity to speak with some of the world’s most prominent linguists including Noam Chomsky, sometimes described as “the father of modern linguistics”, Gloria Muñoz Ramírez, Mexican journalist and author and Veronica Huilipan, President of the Mapuche Resistance in Argentina.

Language students have been investigating indigenous movements and interacting with tribes, indigenous leaders, embassies, oil and mining companies and NGOs over the past few months leading up to this historical moment in their learning where they can discuss their research with these prominent people.
