At this year’s Rotterdam edition of the World Student Conference, we spoke to some IB students about their ideas for #generationIB, and got some great tips on team building from a student perspective.
Be supportive of each other:
“The tip that I would share with other students wanting to do the same thing is to find another classmates or friends to do it that really support your goal and really want to do the same thing because I think it’s really important to have the strength of all the people together.” – Adriana Sofia Gomez
See diversity as a strength:
“A tip that I have for you is choose different types of people. It’s really important to have a lot of diversity; not just skin colour, not just nationality, but also different ways of thinking.” – Pedro Vargas
Don’t be afraid to make your voice heard:
“Voice your opinion…don’t be afraid to speak up and talk about how you see it…it’s really interesting to see different perspectives and diversity really helps to create a better solution in the end.” - Abdelatif Guerroudj
Share your ideas:
“It’s important that we all share our own ideas and enthusiasm because it keeps everyone else excited and motivated and it’s really hard to make changes when you feel like you’re the only one.” – Kristin Wilcox
Get involved with #generationIB
Students of all ages can showcase their creativity and skills in working together to find solutions to some of our most pressing global issues any time from now until 21 September to be in with a chance of having their work featured on our website and social media channels from 24 to 28 September.
You can submit existing work, projects you're particularly proud of, or just send us ideas, sketches, pictures or whatever you think best illustrates your approach to problem-solving. Take a look at how some schools are already taking on the challenge.
