The Royal Holloway University of London, UK, has reviewed their entry requirements to reflect the strength of the IB Diploma Programme as a broad and balanced qualification.
The entry requirements now lay emphasis on students’ Higher Level subject grades instead of on their overall IB Diploma score.
This move is designed to provide greater offer equivalence between students applying with the IB Diploma and students applying with other qualifications.
Sheryl Simon, Director of Student Recruitment and Partnerships at Royal Holloway explained:
"Royal Holloway has always recognized the value of the IB Diploma in developing rounded students who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge and who perform well in higher education. We have decided to change our offer for IB students […] We believe this provides greater parity between our A-level and IB students but also acknowledges the achievement of the overall IB Diploma.”
